CHANDIGARH, Nov 27: The two-day seminar on quot;Development of competencies among polytechnic studentsquot;, being held here at Government Polytechnic for Women, concluded today with experts stressing upon increased interaction between industry and polytechnics.

Dr L.M. Mittal, Head of Department, Curriculum Development Centre, TTTI, who chaired the morning session, maintained that a closer interaction between polytechnics and industry would ensure better employment for students. Amardeepika, senior personnel manager, PTL, Dr Y.C. Chopra from PEC, Dr Sahajpal from Business School of Studies, PU, B.M. Gulati, management consultant, also spoke on the issue.

In his valedictory address, Balbir Singh, principal of the polytechnic, said that he would soon chalk out an action plan to be implemented for achieving objectives identified during the two days of discussion.

Organising secretary, Narinder Sethi, informed that the institute had already established a well-equipped computer centre with Internet and E-mail facilities. This will help our students catch up with the latest in the field of information technology, she said.
