A Mob attacked MP Akhilesh Singh Yadav, son of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, after the recovery of the bodies of two Dalit children, police said today.
The children were abducted from near Naurachandpur village on June 4 and their bodies were recovered yesterday, leading to tension in the area. An irate mob pelted stones at police when they wanted to take the bodies for post-mortem.
MP Akhilesh Singh Yadav8217;s vehicle also came under attack. Yadav, who was rescued by his guards and police after two hours of struggle, did not suffer any injuries, police said. His vehicle was partially damaged. The mob blocked traffic on the G.T. Road and damaged several passing vehicles and the situation was brought under control after police personnel from adjoining areas were rushed to the spot.
Yadav announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 for the next of kin of the deceased from his MPLAD fund while the district administration announced a relief of Rs 10,000 for the same.
