S.A.S. NAGAR, MARCH 11: The local unit of the Senior Citizens Pensioners Council is organising the second veteran walking competition for senior citizens of the town, on March 17, at Phase VIII Dussehra Grounds here. The competition is alsoopen to the spouses of senior citizens.
For men in the 60-65, 65-70 and 70-75 age group, the distance for the walk has been fixed at 2.5, two and one kilometre, respectively, while for women it would be 1,000, 750 and 500 metres.
Council president Amrik Singh Mohali said that besides the walking competition, a musical chair contest and speech in Punjabi on Life after 60 years8217; would be held. The programme has been sponsored by Punjab and Sindh Bank, he added.
