NEW DELHI, July 10: The managing director of Mesco Pharmaceuticals Ltd MPL Rita Singh was today granted bail in connection with a cheque-bouncing case. She has been given 15 days to provide the addresses of other MPL directors. A duty magistrate granted Singh bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of the same amount.
A complaint filed by a garment export company, Rahul Merchandising Ltd, alleged that a Rs 5-lakh cheque issued by MPL on October 31, 1996, was dishonoured by the State Bank of Hyderabad. The complaint was filed under the Negotiable Instrument Act. Taking cognisance of the complaint, Metropolitan Magistrate Harish Dudani had issued summons to Singh on June 3.
The complaint also named five other directors as accused 8212; J.K. Singh, D.K. Singh, Natasha Singh, S.P. Dugnani and Harish Narula.
The case has been adjourned to October 7.
