The Karnataka Government has decided to extend its mid-day meal scheme to all state-run high schools from the forthcoming academic year, school education minister Basavaraj Horatti said while announcing a Cabinet decision.

In other decisions taken today, the Government will hike the salaries of the faculty in government medical colleges in an attempt to arrest attrition to the private sector.

The state Cabinet also approved the bringing into force of a new law, on the lines of a Central act, to regulate the tapping of ground water in the state.
