CHANDIGARH, Sept 10: The Marxist Communist Party of India MCPI held a rally here today near the Sector 20 mosque.

The rally, held under the president ship of MCPI politburo member Jagjit Singh Lyallpuri, was in protest against the rising prices all across the country and hike in bus fares and power tariff in Punjab.

Addressing the gathering, MCPI state secretary Kuldeep Singh said: quot;It is time for Marxism and Leninism as capitalism has failed in various countries.quot; Among others who addressed the rally included MCPI general secretary Sudhir Bhattacharya, former MLA from Andhra Pradesh M. Omkar, CPIU politburo member Uma Shankar and Karnataka CPIU secretary Krishanappa.
