MUMBAI, APRIL 2: MCA Colts won the RFS Talyarkhan Trophy defeating Catholic Gymkhana in the final at the Bombay Gymkhana ground today.

Rajesh Pawar (14) and Zahir Khan (13) added 23 runs for the ninth wicket to help MCA Colts to win the prestigious trophy after the gap of four years.

Colts set to score an achievable 166 for a win, were happily placed at 104 for three before in 20 overs. Thereafter, they lost five wickets in another 41 runs in 35 overs and were down to 145 for eight.

Southpaw Amit Pagnis (28 runs off 27 balls) was the top scorer for Colts. For Catholic Gymkhana, Arun Shetty claimed three for 31 while Rajesh Sawant got two for 49.

After being put in to bat, Catholic Gymkhana had a poor start. They lost both the openers cheaply. The middle-order batsman failed to recover from this set back and lost wickets at regular intervals. Praful Dhule was the highest scorer for Catholic team.

Off-spinner Shreyas Khanolkar was the pick of the bowlers with three for 37 in 10 overs.
