MUMBAI, JUNE 27: Twenty premises of the Santogen group came under search by the investigation wing of the Income Tax department on Thursday and Friday.

Though IT officials refused to confirm the name of the clothing manufacturing group, market sources revealed it was in fact the Santogen group. The raids were conducted simultaneously at Lower Parel, Powai, Silvassa, Khopoli, Patalganga, Bhiwandi and Murbad, sources said.

Eleven bank lockers, jewellery and office premises of the group, leading manufacturers of suiting and shirting, were put under prohibitory orders after the raid. Some statements have also been recorded, though IT sources refused to reveal the contents. The raiding team discovered Rs 1.24 crore worth of unexplained stock.
