CHANDIGARH, Feb 15: Manwinder Singh of Shivalik Public School-41 will lead the 18-member Chandigarh team in the 21st National Sub-Junior (under-16) championship for Mir Iqbal Hussian Trophy which got underway today at Delhi.

Chandigarh has been clubbed in pool `F’ and play their opening match tomorrow with Orissa.

Mizoram, Orissa, Punjab and Daman and Diu are other teams in the pool.

Chandigarh play their second match against Punjab on February 18 while they take on Daman Diu in the third match on February 19. In the last match, the team plays Mizoram on February 21.

Team: Bir Singh, Mohit, Ravinder, Rajinder, Gurpreet Singh, Amrinder Singh, Vinay Antil, Ram Bilas, Anil Rawat, Kartik, Manish, Dalip Virk, Pradeep, Klarjeet, Deepak, Rohit, Varun Khosla and Sandeep Heer.

IP Nagi and Arun Kumar will accompany the team as coach and manager respectively.

Ritesh shines
Ritesh Manchanda’s fine all round show (2 for 21 and 56 n.o) helped Videocon XI beat Fauji XI by eight wickets in the second Shankar Lal Memorial cricket tournament here today.

In the other match, Honda XI beat TCL XI by one wickets in a keen tussle.The last match of the day was won by Chelsea XI. They beat Falcon XI by 27 runs.

Scores: Fauji: 115 for 8 (Nagesh Gupta 35, Mukesh 25, Sanjay Dhull 25; Ritesh Manchanda 2-21) lost to Videocon: 116 for 2 (Ritesh Manchanda 56 n.o, Vineet Khosla 29 n.o).
TCL: 132 (Vikas 29, Dhiraj 25; Pardeep 3-20) lost to Honda: 133 for 9 (Chandermohan 29, Manoj Joshi 21; Sangeet 3-20).
Chelsea: 125 (Vikram 30, Kuldeep 21; rajesh 2-22, Jagjivan 2-13) beat Falcon: 98 (Tarun 19; Gurbachan 5-22, Kuldeep 2-7).
