Malhotra, ranked 346 in the world, was lucky to keep the Indian challenge alive despite committing as many as nineteen double faults before beating fourth seed Thai Wang I-Ting ranked 487 in an absorbing first semi-final by 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 8-6. Adamczak got past sixth seed Thai Suchanan Viratprasert 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
