CHANDIGARH, Feb 19: The police are investigating the Wednesday8217;s incident when a Sector 22 resident was allegedly drugged, robbed and left on the roadside here.

Arun Kumar had gone to the Sector 39 police station on Wednesday evening to report the matter. He stated that he sought lift from a car driver on the Samrala Chowk in Ludhiana. There were three persons in the car all of whom were apparently in their 20s.

They reportedly stopped the car near a milk booth on the way. While they went out, Arun kept sitting in the car. They bought a few milk bottles for themselves and also offered Arun one. Arun accepted it without any suspicion as they also consumed milk.

On the way, they kept questioning him and when the car reached Sector 40 here they asked him to get down. He said he was feeling a little uncomfortable. They asked him to pay Rs 200. By the time he realised his brief case was left in the car, it was too late. Arun said his brief case contained Rs 45,000. He reported the matter to the Sector 39 police station.

Arun called his house from Sector 40 that he was not feeling well. His wife came and found him lying on a roadside and rushed him to PGI.

No case has been registered in any of the police stations.
