Man dies after falling from roof

PANCHKULA, SEPT 14: A resident of Mansa Devi, Gauri Shankar Shah, died on Monday after falling off from the roof of his residence. He belonged from Bihar and the police have registered a casen under Section 174 of the IPC.A resident of Shimla, Salwinder Kaur, has registered a complaint with the police that a school bus hit her Maruti car, which her husband Baljit Singh was driving near the Chandimandir petrol pump. Baljit was killed on the spot, while the bus driver fled away. The police have registered a case under Section 279, 304 of the IPC.

Schoolgirl commits suicide
In an incident of suicide was reported from Sector 15 here today. Sixteen-year-old Ruchi Bharadwaj, daughter of Vijay Bharadwaj, head clerk in HUDA, was found hanging from a tree outside the house. According to sources, Ruchi had yesterday slept around 11 p.m. and everything was normal. In the morning today, her father found her hanging from a guava tree outside the house. Ruchi was the youngest of the three children. She has two brothers.

Sources say Ruchi was worried over the result of her Plus Two exams and this is suspected to be the reason for her suicide. She was studying in a Chandigarh school. The body has been sent for a post-mortem and an inquiry has been registered under Section 174 Cr.PC. Meanwhile, the members of HUDA Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, who are observing strike, today observed a two-minute silence to mourn the death of Ruchi.
