Look, what am I carrying in my schoolbag today?

Some primary level students bring fancy and luxurious items to flaunt them among their classmates. One day, one of these children managed to bring a Korean playstation and became the cynosure of all eyes. Helpless teacher says, 8220;My cupborad is full of fancy confiscated items but this does not deter the children.8221;

A prinicipal confiscated six cellphones in a span of one and half months from Class X and Class XI students. 8220;The students also exchange objectionable CDs 8220;, said a school principal. She f added that parents have been requested umpteen number of times to keep a vigil on their wards but they do not bother.

A senior school teacher said, 8220;I seized three CDs from senior students. When the school principal summoned their parents, they refused to believe that their children got the CDs to the school.8221;

Priyanka Mehta, Principal, Saraswati Modern School said,8221; Children are pampered by their parents who instead of spending quality time with them give them money to splurge. It is not easy to check school bags every day. It is the responsibility of parents to check their wards8217; bag daily so that they do not carry any unwanted material.8221;

Dr Sushma Jaswal, Professor, Human Development said, 8220;Parents should not fulfill every demand of their children. Long exposure to television has raked their brains and they look out to try and find answers to questions. Internet makes all this easy. With parents not ready to share any responsibility, children have started behaving like adults. The sense of shame has disappeared among children means and they do not feel afraid of their parents and teachers.8221;
