FEBRUARY 3: NAGPUR: Two-and-a-half points from Life Insurance Corporation, tied cumulative total and calculation of progressive scores, summed up Petroleum Sports Control Board (PSCB)’s march to the retain the title in the 23rd BPCL National Team Chess Championship.
After end of the seventh and final round, PSCB, Bank Sports Board (BSB) and Indian Airlines (IA) were locked with 19 points each. PSCB emerged champions after calculating the progressive scores, while BSB and IA were placed second and third respectively. Overnight leaders, LIC had to content with the fourth spot with 18.5 points.
