It gives me immense joy when I see my pupils think out of the box and teachers only act as a base to propel their innovations beyond the skies.
When I started out as a teacher in the early 90s, I felt very awkward about the education system. A weak student was often suppressed by the virtual teaching methodology. But being the pope of a reputed institute now, I never let my priests rate any child weaker or stronger. Rather than leaving a tilted sapling to grow at an angle, we support it to grow straight so that it stands tall in this competitive world.
A teacher is the best substitute to a mother and if both do their roles to perfection, the dream of a clean and pure India will be no far. For this, a perfect blend of moral values and knowledge is required. In this process, we should not forget to give them ample time for leisure activities, which is an equally important aspect of proper education. I believe students should be given all the freedom to do a particular thing in their own innovative ways.
A teacher should act as a guide and must not force a student to do anything in a prescribed manner. Gone are the days when books were everything.
Now is the time of innovative thinking. In the West, students get the freedom to do things their way. The practical aspect of anything is very important and students should be given adequate exposure and acquainted with the practical aspect of any concept that is being taught to them.
This theory of practical aspect should not only be applied to the students during their school hours but parents should also help them in this regard. At home, the parents should trust their children and give them responsibility. A task can be done in many ways and by giving students freedom to choose their own ways we not only boost their morale but also help in their personal and mental development.
