8220;We filled the necessary forms to appear for the interview on August 27 and also submitted the copies of all necessary documents to the police. The police had then asked us to submit photocopies of domicile certificate. The police also accepted the receipt that the collectorate gives when you apply for domicile certificate. The police said that they could give the copies of the domicile certificate on the day of the interview,8221; said Mayur Chavan, Yuvraj Yadav and Popat Sanap.

8220;But after October 20, my friends and I got letters from the police saying we have been rejected as we do not have domicile certificates. Now, when we have come here to ask them on what grounds have they rejected us, some police officials have asked us to go to the court if possible and get a stay order against the recruitments,8221; said a rejected candidate.

Applicants present in the Shivajinagar police headquarters said that the police officials cited that over 35,000 thousand applications were received by the police from across the state. Out of this, they selected 27,000.

Speaking on the issue, Deputy Commissioner of Police Avinash Rokade said, 8220;those candidates who did not fit the parameters necessary for the job or did not have the necessary documents at the time of submission of forms have been disqualified.8221;
