
BATHINDA, June 21: Kuldeep Singh 39, a lecturer in the local Government Rajindra College and his cousin Sampooran Singh 24, an employee of Military Engineering Service MES, at Bikaner, ended their lives by consuming celphos tablets early this morning here today.
As the reasons for this worst tragedy cited by his colleagues, Kuldeep was upset due to his family problems. His wife who is a lecturer of History in a college at Pathankot had been living separately for the three years. A six-year old son of the couple was also living with the mother.Kuldeep Singh was was a lecturer in Hindi and had joined here about four months ago.
and was staying in the boys hostel. His cousin Sampooran Singh had come to meet him yesterday with the objective to pull him out of depression. But he failed in his objective.
According to the hostel sources, during the dead of night, despite a severe opposition by Sampooran, Kuldeep consumed celphos tablets, and later Sampooran too did the same. Both of them had a deep relationship.
On being informed, both of them were rushed to the local civil hospital by their lecturer colleagues, but they could not be saved. However, before death, both of them recorded their statements that they were dying out of their sheer will, and expressed desire that they should be cremated together. Sampooran Singh was still bachelor and belonged to Singowal village near Mukerian while Kuldeep hailed from the Mukerian town.
