NEW DELHI, JULY 19: RJD Supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav, facing trial in the multi-crore fodder scam cases, today faced the Supreme Court SC8217;s ire as he authorised a party MP to file reply to a CBI petition accusing him of making derogatory statements against the agency.

8220;We Express our displeasure over Laloo Prasad Yadav not swearing the affidavit though the petition made direct allegations against him,8221; a three-judge bench, headed by Justice K T Thomas, said.

The Court took exception to the affidavit filed by RJD MP Ram Deo Bhandari despite Laloo Prasad Yadav being directed to file his response to the CBI petition which extracted several statements against the agency allegedly made by the former chief minister.

After Yadav, through counsel Kapil Sibal, tendered his apology to the Court, the Bench comprising Justice Thomas, Justice S S M Quadri and Justice U C Banerjee granted another opportunity to him to file his response.

The Court also extended the period of bail to him and over 100 other accused in the fodder scam by three months.

The Bench, while hearing a writ petition, filed by Yadav seeking anticipatory bail in other fodder scam cases in which chargesheets have been filed, issued notice to the CBI asking it to file reply before first week of September.
