The world of tribal kids is very contrasting to the lifestyle of children in the city, while they experience the pains and sorrows that surpass their health and well-being. Peering into their world and unveiling the life of these tribal children, after years of research work city-based photographer Shrikrishna Paranjpe and anthropologist Robin Tribhuvan will release a book titled 8212; The World Of Tribal Children 8212; which is an informative and photographic insight to various moods of tribal children in the different parts of the country.

Talking of his experience, Tribhuvan says, 8220;I have been working on the life of various tribes for the past 20 years and I realised that the problems of these kids is a different issue altogether. Facing so many odds and challenges these children grow up issues related to health, education, early marriages and so on. In many cases the seasonal irrigation affected their schooling, but it was unbelievable when we saw little girls facing childhood pregnancy. We have tried to depict these challenges in our book.8221;

The book also involves information about the games that the children play, the traditions of the tribes and so on. Explaining the motive behind the book Paranjpe says, 8220;There are over 700 tribes across India and they all have their own unique lifestyles. We felt that it is important to have a documentation of all these lifestyles from the point of view of maintaining a record.8221;

Scheduled to be published in January 2009, the book in over 250 pages captures countless moods of tribal children from tribes such as katkari, warli and so on. 8220;We have even captured moods of children of brick kiln workers, sugarcane workers and so on,8221; adds Paranjpe. He further shares the experiences while shooting saying, 8220;These tribes are very shy and they do not allow anybody else to interfere in their lives. It was thus a challenge to capture the images, as there have been times when some of the women ran behind us with a dagger. But all this was worth it when we developed the images captured.8221;
