Khushi Mukherjee clarifies after claiming, ‘Suryakumar Yadav used to message me’; says, ‘we were only friendly’

She said, “I don’t want to date any cricketer. Because there were so many cricketers after me. Who is that cricketer — Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot. But abhi hamari zyada baat-cheet nahi hoti hai (Now we are no longer in contact). I don’t even want to get associated, and I don’t like any link-ups with me. No more link-ups.”

In another interview ith News 24, she explained her comments and said they are only friendly. “There was nothing like that between us. We were only good friends and nothing more. He lost a match at that time, and it made me quite sad. That’s all, there’s nothing beyond this. Suryakumar Yadav was just my friend. I don’t want to be linked with anyone. That’s all I said and didn’t say anything else. When people start opening my chats, sharing them here and there, keeping my password, hacking my account, and posting all kinds of nonsense… what am I supposed to say?”

Khushi’s earlier statement was reposted by a lot of social media accounts, and many fans of the cricketer called out Khushi for making false claims. The outrage over the comments also stems from the fact that Yadav has been married since 2016. His wife, Devisha Shetty, is often seen supporting him from the stands, and he regularly posts pictures with her on his Instagram account. This controversy also comes during a rather rough patch for Surya, as he has been constantly struggling to put runs on the board. Being the captain, Yadav is under more scrutiny than any other player and has been putting in work in the nets, trying to bounce back.
