This win is fantastic for the game in the country. This will ensure more attention to the game and it will also help in changing mindset of the sponsors as well. Because to produce more Anands, we need money in the game.
I think Anand completely deserved it. He is definitely one of the sharpest brains in the game. What makes Anand so special is that he is excellent during the complicated middle-game. He also has immense memory, which helps him recall a wide range of moves for every situation. Another thing that makes Anand such a tough customer is his ability to quickly analyse and work according to the situation.
Vladimir Kramnik is a fighter to the core but I think what tilted the balance in Anand8217;s favour is his surprise opening of D4, a Queen8217;s Pawn opening, which completely floored the Kramnik camp. Anand usually plays E4, a King8217;s Pawn opening, but during this championship, Anand only applied his favourite opening in the final game, when he was firmly in saddle. I think his opening completely caught Kramnik and his seconds off guard.
Anand also had an excellent support staff. But ultimately, all the planning is of no use unless the player manages to execute it properly. All credit should go to Anand for implementing every advice and plan so well.
