
CALCUTTA, DEC 11: Korea8217;s Hong Tae Kim pulled off an upset victory over second seed James Auckland of Great Britain to sail into the boy8217;s semi-final of the Duncans ITF Junior Tennis Championship at the DKS Complex here today.The Korean, who lost the opening set to Auckland 4-6, fought back to claim the next two 6-3, 7-5. He would meet qualifier Kedar Tembe of India who eased out Akshay Jagdale 7-5, 6-2 in the quarter final.
In the girls8217; singles, top seed Chen Yuan of Chinese Taipei conceded her quarter final match 6-1, 4-1 to sixth seed Radhika Mandka due to a nagging knee injury.
Korean An-Na Lee defeated Trishna Williams of India 6-0, 6-4.Second seed Uzma Khan of India entered semis defeating Shruti Dhawan 6-1, 6-4 to meet fourth seed Gautham Sheethal who defeated eighth seeded Tuan Wan Ching of Chinese Taipei 6-2, 6-4.The first entry into semis of boy8217;s doubles started with Mathew Trudgaon and Nick Greenhouse of Great Britan beating the Indian pair of Pathanjali Ravishankar and Dipesh Rao of India 6-2, 6-4.
