Resilient Kids
The kids of the Stella Maris High School, Vadgaonsheri had written letters to us concerning the pitiable state of the approach road to their school. Well, we carried a feature hoping that the Pune Muncipal Corporation would sit up and take notice. That hasn8217;t happened so far but we got two letters from these very kids thanking us for telling their tale of woe. Here are some excerpts from the letters:
Archana Kamat writes: 8220;I am very grateful to you for publishing our letters so that the corporation is aware that we students are not going to keep mum as we have all these years. It is because of you that I can say yes, there is some power in the freedom of speech!8221; Salim Shaikh writes: 8220;Sir, you encouraged us and we were sure that the PMC would wake up after reading this in your newspaper. The PMC should wake up from their sleep and listen to small children8217;s call.8221;
