Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee UPCC president Salman Khursheed today indicated a top-level reshuffle in the state committee following the party8217;s below par performance in the Assembly polls.
Talking to mediapersons here today, Khursheed said he had already accepted responsibility for the debacle. 8220;The results were disappointing in spite of complete support from party chief Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi. I take the responsibility.8221;
He admitted that the state unit of the party badly needed a reshuffle and said he was ready to abide by the party decision. 8220;I will go with whatever the leadership decides in relation to changes in the state.8221;
However, the state president sounded complacent when he said the extensive campaigning increased the vote percentage at least. 8220;Even if we have failed to maintain our numbers, we have met our three-point target: removing the Samajwadi Party from the state, restricting the BJP from rising and strengthening our own organisation,8221; Khursheed claimed. The PCC president also clarified that his party was going to have cordial relations with the state government.
