The Karjan police have arrested all six accused of the Anwar Shiekh murder case. The police said the six had taken shelter at one of the accused8217;s house in the Navapura area.

The police are yet to ascertain the real motive behind the murder. On Saturday, they had said that the murder took place over business rivalry.

Shiekh, a shopkeeper from a municipal market in Karjan, was stabbed to death on Friday afternoon in the market. When Shiekh was passing by one of the accused8217;s shop, Yasin Ghulam Shiekh stopped him, which resulted in an argument between the two. Soon, four people reached the spot and beat up Shiekh with an iron rod.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Kanu Patel, who was present at the spot, tried to intervene, but he also sustained severe injuries on the head and one Ajit Usman Shiekh repeatedly slapped him.

Thereafter, Yasin and others stabbed Shiekh with swords, the police said.

While Anwar Ismail Shiekh, Anku alias Kadiyo Shiekh and Usman Sheikh aided Yasin, he brutally stabbed Anwar.

Sources in Karjan said that the victim was associated closely with the local municipal corporation and because of a business rivalry, he wanted the accused to be out of the market.
