RURAL PATIENTS: President A P J Abdul Kalam on Friday asked doctors to treat at least 20 rural patients a year at minimum rates by going to the rural areas. Addressing the convocation ceremony of the B D Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Rohtak, Kalam said doctors should give their time to those patients who cannot afford medicare.

REVAMP PHCs: 8220;Primary health centres and other centres must be revamped and improved in Haryana and other parts of the country,8221; Kalam said. He underlined the importance of medical research and said India must develop its indigenous medicines and equipments to cure deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS.
