BANGALORE, FEBRUARY 9: Devendra Joshi (Maharashtra) and Mohammad Asim (West Bengal) topped their respective groups and qualified for the pre-quarterfinals of the 66th Senior National Billiards Championship on Wednesday.

Mohammad Asim (West Bengal) pushed D Lilly of Punjab to second spot in Group C 849-529. With this victory, Asim heads the group.

In Group E matches, Prem Prakash (Tamil Nadu), who had won against little master Pankaj Advani, suffered a setback, against SB Agrawal (Railways) 440-800. Prakash’s 107 in the 38th visit went in vain as Agrawal managed to unnerve his opponent with a steady game earning 85, 81 breaks.

Pankaj Advani had won against Agrawal and got a walkover against Aditya Dube (Madhya Pradesh). If Advani wins against Devang Shah (Maharashtra) tomorrow, Prem Prakash will be ousted.
