
GURGAON, Aug 3: The joint drive by the Haryana and Delhi police will not be hampered because of the remarks made by Delhi police officials blaming Haryana-based criminals for crimes committed in the national capital.
Speaking to The Indian Express during his visit to Gurgaon today DGP S.K. Sethi, Haryana, said the police is now laying a fresh emphasis on solving the unsolved cases.
The DGP said: 8220;This is one area which we need to focus on. Crime is a part of life. But the important thing is that it should be worked out.8221; Sethi who was here to review the crime situation in the districts of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rewari and Mahendragarh admitted that the districts adjoining Delhi-Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Sonepat and Faridabad were sensitive. 8220;Since there is a lot of to and fro movement of criminals in these areas we consider them as sensitive districts.
We are having considerable coordination with the Delhi police and we had also convened a meeting of our DIGs with the Commissioner of Police some months back,8221; he said. The state police chief said that following the explosion in a Haryana roadways bus at ISBT in New Delhi the police is keeping a close vigil at points like the bus stands and railways stations. 8220;The intelligence reports are that the inter-state intelligence ISI agents have planned to carry out explosions throughout the country so we need to be more alert and vigilant,8221; the DGP said.
Superintendent of Police, Faridabad, Mohammad Akil said that they have started regular checking of buses, particularly particularly during the night. 8220;This exercise is being conducted as a part of our anti-terrorist and anti-robber operations,8221; Akil said.
The DGP further said that all the SP8217;s in the districts have been entrusted with task of monitoring and keeping a strict vigil.
He said that the matter has been carried too far by the media and our relations with the Delhi Police will not suffer on this account.
