It was a day of prayers in Mahasamund for Jogi’s good health and recovery as the BJP too held back its attacks.
‘‘Jogi is showing good improvement in the hand while some sensation has returned to his legs,” neurosurgeon Dr C.E. Deopujari said in Mumbai. “It’ll take us a few days to determine the strength in his legs.”
Congress insiders say Jogi’s son Amit — currently with his father in Mumbai — is likely to take charge of the campaign for the next six days. He is likely to return tomorrow. Jogi had organised his own set-up and had divided the constituency among sitting MLAs and former ministers. Now, chances are he will write personalised letters to the voters in every village explaining his inability to campaign from his hospital bed in Mumbai. Advertisements will be put out in newspapers and leaflets sent out to voters.
