JODHPUR, DECEMBER 29: Jiwaji Gwalior retained the West Zone Inter-Varsity hockey title with a hard-earned 2-0 victory over hosts Jodhpur in the four-team semi-final league, today.

Jiwaji finished with seven points. They were followed by Bhopal and Mumbai with five and four points respectively. Jodhpur failed to open their account.In the morning, Mumbai led Bhopal 2-1 with eight minutes left, but conceded the equaliser and the second spot. Bhopal scored through Arif from the second corner 18th. Mumbai equalised when Gurmeet Singh Rao guided home a free-hit after the break. Prem Kumar then pounced on a rebound to put Mumbai ahead 61st, but Bhopal knocked in the leveller through Nimit Lal.

Shailendra and Amit scored for Jiwaji.
