JDS to abstain

Janata Dal Secular will abstain from voting in Friday8217;s vice-presidential election and will maintain an equi-distance from both the Congress and BJP. 8220;The national executive of the Janata Dal Secular has committed itself time and again to maintaining an equi-distance from both the Congress and BJP at the national level,8221; JDS President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda said while announcing the party8217;s decision.
