NEW DELHI, Aug 15: The stalemate between the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP and its allies, the Samata Party and the Lok Shakti, over the entry of the Janata Dal United into the National Democratic Alliance today prevented the BJP from releasing its list of candidates from Bihar.

Manvendra Singh, son of Minister for External Affairs Jaswant Singh, has been fielded from Barmer in Rajasthan. An officer with Territorial Army, Manvendra is a former Associate Editor Defence and Security of The Indian Express and resigned during the Kargil crisis to don the uniform.

In another development, the BJP today clinched a deal with the TDP with the two parties sorting out differences over constituencies.
