.

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind and the CPIM seem to be further drifting apart with the latter8217;s mouthpiece in Kerala, Deshabhimani, calling it a Muslim extremist outfit.

In an editorial on the developments in Nandigram, it said, 8220;There in Singur and Nandigram, the Trinamool Congress, BJP, Jamiat Hind, a Muslim extremist organisation, SUCI and Naxalities are working shoulder to shoulder8221;.

The editorial condemned the Naxalite attack in Chhattisgrah and said the Naxalites had spread their wings in West Bengal too.

The Jamiat has taken strong exception to the CPIM organ calling them extremists. 8220;They CPI-M do not know our legacy and the contribution to the freedom movement. They must be out of their minds to call us like this8221;, Mehmood Madani, Rajya Sabha MP and the national general secretary of the Jamiat, said.
