Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani8217;s rejection of its demand for a trifurcation of J-K notwithstanding, the RSS here today made a forward move on the issue by pledging its support to an agitation.

RSS spokesman M.G. Vaidya told mediapersons here that the RSS had directed its workers 8216;8216;to extend support to the movement there8217;8217;. The movement, already under way under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Front, is spearheaded by RSS supporters.

Vaidya, when asked about the stand taken by Advani on the issue, said the Centre was entitled to its view.

He said RSS favoured J-K Assembly elections under President8217;s Rule. He said: 8216;8216;It will instill confidence among people and the voting percentage will go up.8217;8217; He agreed that this was not the only option.
