
SILIGURI, SEPT 10: An ISI agent has been arrested with several classified documents from Sukna army base, about 16 km from here, police said.
The ISI agent identified as Gautam Basu was arrested by Matigara police yesterday on the basis of an information provided by the army, Darjeeling Suparintendent of police S Chander told a press conference here today.
Two classified army MAPS with details of Indo-Nepal border and an establishment near Siliguri were seized from Basu8217;s possession, he said.
Basu, a former military/engineering services contractor, used to supply important army documents and army movement orders to the Pakistan Embassy in Nepal for quite a long time, the SP added.
After interrogating Basu, Siliguri police was now looking for a Nepalese National who reportedly introduced Basu to the officials of Pakistan embassy officials.
The accused, who had free access to the Pakistani Embassy at Kathmandu, used to earn handsome amount against supply of army documents, Chander added.
