IOC becomes Y2K compliant

MUMBAI, DECEMBER 1: Indian Oil Corporation IOC India8217;s largest commercial organisation has announced Y2K readiness assuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products from its refineries and marketing locations during the switchover in the new millennium.

Similar simulations have been earned out at all other refineries and every key point of said locations across the country including port and pipeline terminate depots, LPG butting plants and aviation fuelling stations.

As part of a structured action plan developed in house, all divisions of the corporation have implemented remedial actions for systems prone to Y2K induced problems including business applications, application software process control, hardware, networking, standard software packages and operating systems. Wherever necessary, the systems have been upgraded and tested for Y2K compliance.

The corproation will set up and operate a chain of control centres to monitor and to co-ordinate the y2k changever. Customers and authorities may contact these y2k control centres for assistance as required, the release added.
