Intensity undiluted

India cricket manager Lalchand Rajput, busy with the India camp in Kolkata, said that some missing stars would not take away from the intensity of the Indo-Pak rivalry.

“Mohammed Asif is not playing, but that doesn’t mean his absence is taking away the pressure from us.

“ In fact, the absence of names like (Rahul) Dravid and Inzamam (ul Haq) will have no impact in the end. It’s the players out there during a series who matter. And the high-pressure factor will always be there.”

On his counterpart Geoff Lawson describing the Indo-Pak series as bigger than the Ashes “I agree with Lawson. When it’s India versus Pakistan, it’s bigger than the Ashes.”
