Mishap in Fairmount Plate

Diamond Lord and Diabolique were put to sleep after a mishap in the Fairmount Plate 1200m today during the Pune races. In a quick series of incidents, Diamond Lord and Diabolique went down a split second after R Shelar, rider of High Noon, slipped from his saddle and hung precariously.Shelar managed to re-settle and complete the race but B Prakash astride Diabolique and K Sunil astride Diamond Lord hit the turf after the accident occoured between the 600 to 400 meters.

B Prakash, however, recovered superbly to ride out the next races, completing a hat-trick in the nine-event card while K Sunil, sustaining a mouthinjury resulting in the loss of two teeth, could not take further part in the day8217;s proceedings.
