You have been working with ETS since 15 long years. Tell us something about your association with the organisation.

Before joining ETS, I was into teaching, as a language teaching expert. Then ETS came up to me with an offer. I talked to my colleague if it would be nice for me working with ETS. I knew as a teacher it was a right way to go as it was a change for me from the paper based test.

I joined ETS since it was a good opportunity for me. Because ETS is the best in whatever it does.

How do you think TOEFL and GRE have graduated over times to the present?

We led the world in computer based testing in 1998. Each year nearly a million people write TOEFL and GRE tests throughout the globe. TOEFL is available in around 6000 universities and colleges across 130 countries. TOEFL iBT is a more fair measurement of speaking than any other tests of its kind.

Indian students do really well in the TOEFL tests. This is so, because they probably feel more comfortable with the kind of testing method we have at ETS.

Last year alone, students from India took 42 of the GRE tests administered outside North America. Globally, India ranks fourth in the number of TOEFL tests taken annually.

I would encourage Indians to take TOEFL to benefit from the advantages that come along with its scores.
