
MUMBAI, October 13: Indian school boys began their campaign with a well-merited 2-1 victory over Brunei in the 27th Asian School football tournament at Cheju Korea.
According to report received here today, the Indian lads dominated the proceedings and played an attacking game. In the fourth minute Mukan Yadav sent a nice through pass to Dulleswar, who after side-stepping two Brueni defenders, before unleashing a powerful shot. The ball hit the crosspiece and on the rebound Lanunzira Josep capitalised on the chance to give India 1-0 lead in the first half.
On crossing over both teams displayed good soccer. The Brunei team, which is being trained by a Germab coach, changed the tactics and starting using their wingers. The move bore fruits in the 60th minute. After the equaliser the Indian lads mounted pressure. In the 85th minute left winger Tridip initiated a move and sent a cross where Duleshwar banged into the Brunei goal to emerge 2-1 victors.
India are placed in Group A with Korea, China, India,Brunei, Vietnam. India play their next match against China tomorrow.
