The axis of the monsoon trough at sea level passes through Amritsar, Nazibabad, Bareilly, Gaya, Kolkata and thence southeastwards to north Bay of Bengal.
The off-shore trough at sea level from Karnataka coast to Kerala coast persists. The cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km a.s.l. over east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood persists.
The other cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.1 kms a.s.l. over Punjab and neighbourhood also persists. The cyclonic circulation over Gujarat region and neighbourhood now lies between 2.1 and 4.5 kms a.s.l. A cyclonic circulation between 1.5 and 3.1 kms a.s.l. lies over south Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood.
The western disturbance as an upper air system over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir has moved away northeastwards. The other western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir persists. System is likely to move eastnortheastwards.
Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 173 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 125 cms.
Normal for the above 173 stations is 175 cms.
The southwest monsoon has been active in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Chattisgarh. It has been subdued in Jharkhandh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state and north interior Karnataka.
