Appreciating knowledge resources of overseas Indians and its significance in India’s march to becoming a developed economy, industry leaders at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas have said that the country should find ways to leverage this knowledge for “mutually beneficial” overall progress.
There is a significant contribution to the country’s economy and the GDP growth through knowledge contribution of Indians abroad, speakers at the Diaspora Knowledge Network of the third Pravasi Bharatiya Divas said. They said, “Opportunity is before us to find ways to leverage the knowledge, expertise and skills of Indians abroad for meaningful and mutually beneficial contribution to the development imperatives in India.” India benefited immensely with the growth of ICT and its software revenue registered at US $ 60 billion and its BPOs earning also increased up to 30-35 per cent.
