Indian women8217;s cricket captain Mithali Raj is convinced that her team is currently the 8216;8216;most dominant8217;8217; team in Asia. Their recent victories over Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 8212; both one-sided 8212; have kept them in high spirits for the final on Wednesday.

On Monday, they defeated Pakistan once again in their last league match by 10 wickets and are now gearing up to take on Sri Lanka in the final. Mithali Raj and Rumeli Dhar helped the side notch the target of 94 in less than 18 overs.

Winning the Asia Cup will be as far as Mithali and her team can get in being the number one team in the sub-continent. Currently, these girls are more 8216;8216;focused8217;8217; on what lies ahead for them after this tournament is over.

Says Mithali: 8216;8216;If you look at the bigger picture, there are few players who have still not been able to get over with the World Cup final loss against Australia. The failure to defeat them the Aussies or countries like England and New Zealand on a regular basis top the list of issues we8217;re working on.8217;8217;

After the Asia Cup, India head for Australia for a one-off Test and three one-dayers to be played in Adelaide. 8216;8216;That will be the real testing ground. The Australian attack is currently the most dangerous and that will help us analyse our strengths and weaknesses better,8217;8217; she says.

After the tour of Australia, India fly to New Zealand for a five-match one-day series at Lincoln. 8216;8216;The performances against Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been cakewalks. We are happy with the way we have gone about, but this is just another area to experiment within ourselves,8217;8217; says the confident skipper.
