India win three gold

NEW DELHI: Indian rowers won three gold medals and a silver in the International Regatta held at Hong Kong from November 13 to 15. The rowers, in preparation for the December Bangkok Asian Games, did well in the exposure trip as Inder Pal Singh claimed the single sculls and Binoy Lukose and R K Pillai came first in the double sculls event, according to information reaching here.

NEW DELHI: Nine-time National Champion Nonita Lal Quereshi brought her experience into play by firing an even par-72 to jump into the lead on the second day of the 31st Ladies Northern India Open Amateur Championship at the Delhi Golf Club Course here on Wednesday.

Leading scores: 147 Nonita Lal Qureshi 7572, 151 Parnita Garewal 7477; 153 Shruti Khanna 7677; 154 Anjali Chopra 7975, Urvashi Sethi 7579; 155 Lalita Balasubramaniam 7679; 159 Ayesha Kapoor 7782, Vandana Agarwal 8178.
