Note causes scare
Ahmednagar: An unidentified person has left behind a note, claiming that he had murdered Malati Patil and also stolen goods from her bungalow at Dena Bank Colony, here.

The note left in front of an apartment opposite Patil8217;s bungalow has caused a scare among the residents in Premdan locality. It was discovered a few hours after district guardian minister Radhakrishna Vikhe and chairman of the state legislative council N.S. Pharande visited members of the Patil family to console them.

The note was left at the door of the Darekar family, living in Dwaraka Apartment in front of Patil8217;s Atharwa8217; bungalow. Along with the note, there was also a mangalsutra stolen from the Darekar8217;s residence on January 14. However the Darekars had not reported the theft to the police. Four days later, dacoits struck at Patil8217;s residence.

The note, written by a well-wisher thief8217;, said, quot;We are a three-member gang. Our gang murdered Malatibai and stole goods from her residence. We also stole goods from the Karnawats living in this locality. Our theft attempt at the residence of Righe however proved unsuccessful. We had also planned to steal from Bhosale8217;s residence. Henceforth, we will not visit your locality. We are returning this gold ornament so that you should not panic. Hand over this note to the police, so that my friends will be caught. While doing this do not try to establish my identity8217;. The note is with the police.
