Electoral roll campaign ends
The second phase of the special campaign for electoral revision of rolls in the Union Territory concluded today. A number of city residents got their names deleted or added in the UT electoral rolls during the special campaign. City voters can still get their rolls revised with the election office till May 20, after filling in the requisite forms.

Suspension flayed
The local unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal has condemned the suspension of five police officials by the administration, allegedly without taking the IGP or the Adviser into confidence. In a press release,.Gurpratap Singh Riar, president of the local unit of the SAD, has also demanded that all the officers who have completed their deputation be sent back to their parent states.

Postpone exam8217;
Punjab University Students Union has demanded the postponement of the B.Com III exam scheduled to be held on May 12 as it clashes with the exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Claim challenged
The SC/ST Cell of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee challenged local MP Satya Pal Jain claim of solving the problems of the downtrodden, and accused the BJP of not doing anything for them. In a statement issued here today, Balraj Singh, chairman of the CTCC8217;s SC/ST cell, said that Jain has not aired any of the problems of the SC/STs in the City.
