Identity cards for sarpanches soon

CHANDIGARH, FEB 28: Panches and sarpanches of UT panchayats would be given identity cards shortly by the administration for easy access to administrative offices in the City.

The UT administration has already directed the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Director, Panchayats, UT, to do the needful in this regard.

The decision was taken in the wake of a representation by the panchayat members in which they said that they were facing problems while visiting various offices in Chandigarh for work related to villages.
