ICL, BCCI talks fail

Talks between officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI and the Indian Cricket League ICL on the latter8217;s application for ICC recognition failed on Thursday, putting a question mark on reaching a common ground between the two rivals.

Following the International Cricket Council8217;s directives, both parties met here but failed to make any headway on the issue. 8220;This morning there was a meeting in Delhi between officials of BCCI and ICL to see if there was any common ground. The talks failed and there are no plans for any further meeting,8221; BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a press release.

The ICC had postponed its considerations on ICL8217;s application and asked BCCI president Shashank Manohar to meet ICL representatives and submit a report on the discussions.
