With the multinational ‘Red Flag’ exercise at the Nellis airbase in Nevada entering its final phase, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has received praise from the USAF which has described it as a “world class Air Force with great aircraft and great leadership”.

As the exercise, described as one of the world’s toughest aerial war games, enters the final ‘RUN’ phase following the ‘crawl and walk’ pattern on exercising, the commander of the USAF aggressor forces that are taking on Indian fighters said the IAF should be a regular participant at the event.

“IAF is a world class Air Force with great aircraft and great leadership. It’s a great training opportunity for USAF and IAF to integrate our assets in training environment. We would like to have IAF here as a regular participant,” Captain Marcus ‘Spike’ Wilson of the USAF Aggressors said.

The exercise entered the ‘Run’ phase of the multination exercise on Friday during which opposition forces or the ‘Aggressors’ F16 and F15s present an air- to-air and air-to-ground threats to the Blue Land (of which IAF is a part for the war game) and its forces.
