145;I am covered from head to toe146;

Well, to begin with, I am covered from head to toe in this movie and frankly, I like it. I am tired of being labelled as the glam doll or sexy seductress. My role in this movie is close to my actual personality, that of a simply dressed girl who likes to maintain her privacy.

How did you bag the role?
I was approached by the producer of the film Madhu Varma, to read the script of the original South Indian film. After that I auditioned and it took a good two weeks before I knew whether I had been selected for the role. I was so excited that I started crying when I heard I had been chosen.

Tell us about your character.
I portray a medical student, Sunita, who specialises in brain mapping. As a case study, I take on Aamir Khan as my patient, understand his condition and stumble on his mission for personal vendetta. For this I had to memorise some medical jargon, master the right pronunciations and I also worked on portraying the correct physical movements of a doctor. There are also some action sequences where I am running and fighting. In one scene I am running with Aamir in the middle of some Mumbai streets. It was exciting but scary because a mob surrounded us.

Acting with Amitabh in your first film, and now opposite Aamir Khan. You have been lucky.
Yes, I do consider myself lucky. Both are brilliant actors from whom you learn so much. With Aamir I learnt how to master my emotions and achieve perfection. He handled me through each scene till I achieved the perfect shot. For a newcomer, that is a privilege.

Your last film Nishabd was a disaster. How hopeful are you of making up for it here?
Box-office success matters to any actor just as it does to me. I put all my efforts in this project since I wanted to act with Aamir Khan. Now, I am confident that this effort will pay off.
